Dough For Your Cookie | Tomah, WI Photographer

Cookie making is serious business - especially if you bring my mother-in-law to it.  Her line of the day ... "make sure you have enough dough for your cookie."  Or maybe it was the other way around.  I can't remember now - but I do remember telling her I was going to blog about it.  Make sure if you see her you ask her which one it is!!!

Cookies also make your teeth fall out!

Kelsey 2yr | Tomah, WI Photographer

This post can only begin with these instructions .... stop reading.  Go back to Day 73 (yes, waaaaaaay back almost to the beginning).  That is where you will find Baby Kelsey - my very FIRST newborn client.  Those baby blues haven't changed a bit!

Kelsey has turned into a typical two year old ... shy but curious, and once she warmed up to me, she was FULL of energy!  Fruit snacks are our friend :)

New Products New Floors | Tomah, WI Photographer

I may have been absent for awhile, but trust me, I've been working hard!  As most of you know, we own two businesses - Pichette Photography LLC & TnT Entertainment (our DJ service).  January is a good, slow month with not a lot going on, after all, it's cold here in Wisconsin :)  So, January becomes our "gotta-get-this-LONG-list-of-stuff-that-should-have-been-done-6-months-ago" month.  The biggest thing on the list can be checked off - TAXES!!  WHEW!  Thankfully that is the one thing I actually kept on this year - thank you Quickbooks!!!!

The second biggest thing this year was for TnT Entertainment.  Back in March, we discovered that more than half of our music library was GONE due to a corrupted passport.  I never had time to back everything up at once - so, there were a hundred little backups here and there and in the basement and in the closet and - you get the point.  I now understand the importance of backing up EVERYTHING (music / pictures / videos) and keeping them all in one easy to find place.  So, after importing pretty much EVERY single CD we had into iTunes, converting them from an mp4 to an mp3, and storing them in THREE places - I think we have everything back.  I am thankful that we do have iTunes on our phones now - so it does make it super easy if we actually don't have a song when we are DJing.

And that brings us to number 3, 4, 5 ... 100 on my list.  Hoping to accomplish some of that this next week before life starts to get busy again!  The process of importing and converting music is a waiting game - which thankfully, I am a HUGE multi-tasker.  :)  Online shopping is my friend - I bought a couple of new backdrops and floors - one of which you see in the picture.  AND, I designed one of our new super brag books.  This thing is massive and SUPER cool - so be sure to ask to see it when you come in to the studio!!!

Newborn Khloe | Tomah, WI Photographer

Miss Khloe came in for a mini session with her mom and dad.  She even brought her penguin hat :)

Newborn Austin | Tomah, WI Photographer

Austin is a doll!  We had scheduled his first session back in December, but he wasn't having it.  A few weeks later, and even though he wasn't feeling the greatest, he managed to flash those big blue eyes long enough to get some shots.  We even managed to catch a smile at the end!

Newborn Caleb | Tomah, WI Photographer

Do you know how much easier it is to create a blog post when you don't have to remember what day you are on?!  :)  Today it's all about baby dinosaurs, badger fans, hunters, and baby Caleb who seems to be a fan of all the above!  Caleb's mom came in with a vision and we did our best to make it happen!

Full Moon | Tomah, WI Photographer

I shot this at 7am with a 300mm lens - free handed. :)  Granted, I should have used a tripod BUT it's cold out there baby!  I still LOVE how you can see the craters on the right side.  We got asked to use the beta vs of lightroom 4 and so far i really it, except it seems a little backwards for me.  But the sharpness and the color adjustments are superb!!

Spring Has Sprung | Tomah, WI Photographer

January 10th ... I cannot ever remember a year in my entire 32.7 years of existence that has not involved snow, ice, or all of the above!  Don't get me wrong - I love it.  I am also going to be extremely irritated if we get snow in June or July!  I honestly am beginning to believe we have shifted south.  As much as I am loving this weather - I wish we could get a least a few snowflakes.  I have a list of about 11 people who want me to call them the second the white flakes start falling so they can get their dreamy snow pictures!  Until then, I'm going to start calling it spring!

Desconectarse | Tomah, WI Photographer

Now that I have not committed myself to a daily blog, I tend to forget to shoot!  AGH!!!  I went to grab my camera today and it was DEAD - so dead, the light wouldn't even come on to inform me of a low battery.  This is what my world has come to.  I did pick up the camera last week for a business client - and the rest of the week, I spent working around the house!

Desconectarse is exactly the perfect descriptive word for what I've been doing lately!  The meaning of the word:  "To let go of the things that are inhibiting you from being who you should be!"  I've been doing this in my in business, personally, and spiritually.  I still have a long ways to go - but it's a start.  A fresh start!

Fresh starts always start better on bright sunshiney days!  Mr. Owl, who lives in my kitchen window, says today is a bright sunshiney day!

Britteny & Josh Engaged | Tomah, WI Photographer

Britteny hearts Josh (and vice versa).  Josh asked Britteny to marry him shortly before Christmas and they both wanted some winter engagement pictures.  I'm glad we were able to coordinate our schedules before life takes them on different journeys (he's headed to basic training, she's headed to college).  & yes, we live in Wisconsin and we can't seem to get any snow on the ground.  Those flurries you see in the picture - they were melted before they hit the ground LOL.  Time to move to Texas and find some snow!
